What does your company do?
Green Hands is a mobile buy back center with a technological innovated Trailer that has a solar power which charges betries for scales while operating so that even during load shedding our environment is still taken care of. Our mobile trailer also have an office to operate as a save secure buy back center with a loading space at the back which load 2tons of waste materials per load💚 Green hands buys already sorted waste materials from community members using our mobile buy back trailer which create awareness and promote innovation and recycling learnings to our communities. We buy cardboard,plastics,plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Monthly with our mobile trailer we collect 90 tons of waste which than is sold to manufacturers who recycle ♻️ it into useful products. Green hands have 8 full time employees which 7 are youth with the purpose of showing that in the waste industry innovation and technology can make it sustainable. We also use systems to pay our waste pickers with vouchers which can be redeemed at allocated shopping stores to assist in less crime of carrying cash around. Green Hands is about recycling and entrepreneurial activities with innovation and education as we also work with schools in educating learners the importance of separating waste at their homes to avoid waste polluting areas.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success was attracting more stakeholders through technology and innovation which led us to be a winner in SIAWECCA awards with Indalo inclusive South Africa 2024.

What has been your biggest hurdle?
Biggest challenge was to get technology involved and get our communities to align with it.
