What does your company do?
My company is developing a mobile app that serves as a one-stop platform for students and youth navigating the higher education journey. The app helps users apply to accredited universities and colleges, verify program legitimacy to avoid scams, find safe and affordable student accommodation, and access both mental and physical health resources.
It also assists students in finding bursaries and financial aid opportunities that match their academic profiles—making higher education not only more accessible but also more affordable.
A standout feature of the app is InHealth—a dedicated primary health care section that enables students to access teleconsultations for everyday health concerns. This is especially valuable for students who may not have easy access to clinics or private doctors.
Our mission is to protect, empower, and support students by centralizing essential services and credible information in one accessible digital space. We aim to make the transition into tertiary education safer, healthier, and more informed—ultimately contributing to better student success, financial support, and overall well-being
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been turning a simple idea—born from conversations with frustrated students—into a fully developed concept for a mobile app that is now in the early stages of development. Recognizing how many young people were falling victim to unaccredited institutions, struggling with accommodation, or lacking access to basic health care, I began creating a one-stop platform that addresses all these challenges. Despite limited resources, I’ve managed to validate the idea, build key partnerships, and receive recognition through nominations like this one. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, parents, and educators has proven the need for this solution. Taking the first bold step to create something that has the power to protect, educate, and empower thousands of young people is the success I’m most proud of—and I believe it’s only the beginning.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been building a high-impact, tech-based solution with limited funding, technical support, and access to early-stage investment. Developing a mobile app that brings together verified university applications, bursary support, accommodation, and primary health care is a bold and necessary vision—but as a young entrepreneur without existing networks or capital, turning that vision into reality has been challenging. Securing funding to develop and scale the platform has been especially difficult, despite strong interest from users. I’ve had to be resourceful, self-taught, and persistent—learning to pitch, build connections, and maximize what little I had. It’s also been tough to gain traction and trust from potential partners while the product is still being built. But these hurdles have shaped my growth, resilience, and clarity. They’ve strengthened my commitment to making this app a success—not just for me, but for the thousands of students it’s meant to serve.
