What does your company do?
Moli & Mela Group is a growing women-led waste management and recycling company that specializes in the collection and processing of all waste material. Our company also extends to recycling and composting. Molimela, as we call it is business rooted in sustainability, environmental preservation and education.
What is your biggest success?
We are the first woman led company to be awarded Sun City's waste management contract. A huge milestone for a young company led by two young black females, considering that Sun City is the biggest resort under Sun International. This opportunity has enabled us to employ over 60 permanent staff. A milestone we did not anticipate so early in our entrepreneurial journey. It has opened many doors and catapulted our business to new great heights and garnered credibility in the work we do, particularly in a male-dominated field.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Access to funding remains our biggest hurdle. Our business is operations centric. To drive this machine we need access to funds to keep our doors open. We are currently expanding as a business. Wea re building a state of the art waste management facility in rural Rustenburg, North- West. In order to realize this dream we need as much help as we can get. This facility will employ hundreds of young unemployed youth. We remain steadfast and resolute, however.
