Ndlunkulu The Queen is a bridal crown and headpiece accessories business. We specialize in bridal hair accessories and bespoke designs for weddings, bridal engagement celebrations, bridal showers, client photoshoots and other sentimental celebrations like evening events. We also have a division offering designs for everyday wear for the corporate women, and individuals who love to adorn themselves with a hair accessory to compliment their garment and aesthetic. We handcraft the bridal crowns and headpieces with our team, thus offering premium quality and promoting to our target, locally made products. Our materials are high-end faux flowers, glass pearls, various beads and other materials. At our company we offer exclusivity and excellence in our creativity for clients to best pair their bridal garments with a choice from our crown and headpiece range. We offer exceptional customer services.
What is your biggest success?
Starting the business has been the biggest success because by trusting my God-given ability to make headpieces, my talent has allowed me to step into rooms that I could only have dreamt to step in and have certain doors be opened for my business to help it grow. We took part of Africa Fashion Week London 2024 where our headpieces graced the runway in collaboration with the events invited honorary fashion designer from South Africa, Silungile Mokoena from Sluvin Designs and we participated in the exhibition as well. This participation placed our business on the map to gain international recognition and we received a few orders when we returned back into the country. We were also handpicked in 2023 to become a wedding supplier for Marriage Meander which is KZN's number one wedding directory. This opportunity has helped the business to reach our ideal clients.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Poor structure and management of the business has been the biggest hurdle. For a very long time since the business was established I have managed every office of the business to the best of my abilities as CEO. I haven't excelled in everything however the craftmanship and social media presentation has been my strongest point. Now with a growing team in place, this is the year I intentionally aim to fix the foundation of the company and build it by introducing policies and systems in the business that are not in place. It truly disheartens me that we have been in business for quite some time and still we haven't made profit or have our numbers show for it but that is because of mismanagement. This is what I plan to overcome this year to pioneer this business and place bridal crown and headpiece businesses on the map.
