SWAT (Super Women Achieving Together)
What does your company do?
SWAT (Super Women Achieving Together) is a NPC created by women, for women, dedicated to raising funds and awareness to support charities that directly benefit women in need.
The core activity of SWAT centres around organizing an annual fundraising event designed to bring women together in a celebratory and empowering atmosphere, with a focus on fun, dance, and solidarity. All proceeds from the event are directed to support various charities that serve women in need. Planning for the event begins months in advance, with tasks that include securing the venue, coordinating with performers and sponsors, and promoting the event through social media and other channels.
The event itself serves as a major fundraising effort, with the goal of fostering a sense of community among women while raising essential funds for charities supporting causes such as domestic abuse shelters, educational programs, and healthcare initiatives.
Every activity undertaken by SWAT is in alignment with its core mission of supporting women and empowering communities through fun, engagement, and charitable action. From fundraising to advocacy, each initiative is carefully designed to ensure maximum impact.
What is your biggest success?
Every year with SWAT feels like a great achievement. From finding sponsors to planning the event and watching the community come together- it’s a process I truly love and look forward to. Each year brings its own challenges and victories, and seeing it all come to life is incredibly fulfilling.
That said, one of our standout moments was in 2024, when we successfully raised R150,000 through our annual fundraising event. It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people unite for a cause bigger than themselves. The funds made a real impact, supporting young girls, survivors of abuse, and women-led initiatives in our community.
While the amount was a milestone, I believe the true achievement lies in the consistency of our purpose and the growing support from the people around us. Every year, we grow- together.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
I can honestly say there haven’t been any real hurdles on this journey. Running SWAT and helping others- especially women and children in need- is something I’m truly passionate about. Because the work is so deeply rooted in purpose and heart, I don’t view any part of it as a struggle.
Of course, every initiative requires time, effort, and coordination, but I embrace those aspects with gratitude. Knowing that what we do has a direct, positive impact on someone’s life makes even the busiest days feel rewarding.
