What is your biggest success?
Our biggest success has been growing from a one-woman freelance venture into an award-winning, recognised design studio with purpose at its core. We’ve worked with national organisations, built strong partnerships, and made a real impact, not just in branding, but in how brands connect with people.
Our recent awards 2024/2025, our founder Rejoice placed 3rd in the Standard Bank and GIBS Young Entrepreneurs Programme and in 2020 we were highly commended by Women In Marketing (London) for the global “One to Watch” award.
Rejoice extended Souled Studios adding hand made ceramics to help create art and step away from the computer and the business is Bumba Souled Ceramics in 2022 and work has been featured in Design Indaba and part of Design Indaba Top 20 Emerging Creatives 2023 and we’ve helped shape the identities of brands that empower, educate, and uplift communities such as Vastly Sage by Amanda Dambuza one of our valued clients, Bill Gates Foundation, Social Justice Initiative, Section 27, and Henley Business School to name a few clients we've worked with and are on retainer with.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
One of our biggest hurdles was growing our operations without the early access to funding, infrastructure, or equipment, especially when we were expanding services like web development and packaging design. Like many purpose-led businesses, we’ve had to bootstrap and build trust through results. Managing capacity and creative burnout while maintaining quality also became a challenge as our reputation and demand grew. However, we responded by building a trusted freelance collective and refining our internal systems, which has allowed us to scale without losing our creative soul. We have Rejoice as the founder and creative director and Faith Operations manager and a database of 10 to 20 freelancers we have on rotation.
