LW Fragrance is an innovative luxury brand founded by 22-year-old Lindelwa S. Wessels, dedicated to creating high-end yet affordable perfumes for men, women, and the LGBTQ community. With four signature scents—Black Pearl, Jasmine, The Tux, and Enchanted—our fragrances are designed to inspire confidence and self-expression.
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been the creation of LW Fragrance, a brand that delivers high-quality perfumes at affordable prices. I successfully launched four unique scents—Black Pearl, Jasmine, The Tux, and Enchanted—that cater to a diverse audience, including men, women, and the LGBTQ community. Additionally, being recognized in the top 64 of the Standard Bank TOP 16 Yoba Brands competition has affirmed my vision and dedication to empowering individuals through the art of fragrance.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle has been navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship without financial backing or extensive industry connections. Starting LW Fragrance required me to learn quickly about branding, marketing, and product development while managing limited resources. The pressure to establish a reputable brand in a competitive market was daunting, especially as a young entrepreneur. Additionally, coping with personal losses, including the passing of my father, mother, and aunt, added emotional weight to my journey. Balancing grief with the responsibilities of building a business tested my resilience. However, these challenges have ultimately strengthened my determination and taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance, creativity, and resourcefulness. I now view obstacles as opportunities for growth, fueling my passion to succeed and inspire others.
