What does your company do?
The organisation provides access to free and safe cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery and post surgical treatment and care to previously disadvantaged children in the community .
What is your biggest success?
My greatest achievement will first and foremost always be seeing a child’s first smile after a successful surgery and the confidence that comes with it - another great achievement has to be the ability to create a conversation around the condition - instead of people staring and not understanding it , they now recognise and educate those that don’t - destigmatizing the condition .
What has been your biggest hurdle?
Funding ! The condition in itself isn’t seen as a disability , and a lot of people don’t know much about it and its implications - so it doesn’t fall under a dire situation which has been a challenge .
