What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been the growth and resilience of my informal business, Thandi's Fresh Produce, despite the challenges that come with it. However, a standout highlight was my recent collaboration with the Womx accelerator program, where I hosted a successful Women's Connect session. As an alumnus of Womx, I've found the program to be instrumental in my growth as a businesswoman, providing invaluable support.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
One of my biggest hurdles was a recent experience where I was scammed by clients who ordered items worth over R1 million. Despite having agreements in place, they failed to take delivery of the items and didn't reimburse me for deposits made. What's worse, they became unresponsive after cancelling their event, leaving me with significant financial losses. This experience highlighted the importance of robust contracts and due diligence in business dealings.
