What does your company do?
At Smart Money with V, we believe that financial literacy is the key to unlocking a brighter future. Founded by Victoria Elias, a passionate advocate for economic empowerment, our organization is dedicated to transforming the way individuals and communities approach personal finance. We specialize in delivering engaging, tailored financial education programs that cater to diverse audiences, including underserved communities and small to medium enterprises (SMMEs) in South Africa.
Our innovative workshops, interactive tools, and resources demystify complex financial concepts, empowering participants to take control of their financial futures. Through creativity and empathy, we make finance accessible, breaking down barriers that often prevent individuals from achieving financial independence. Our flagship initiative, the Smart Money Quiz board game, combines learning with fun, ensuring that participants not only grasp essential principles but also retain them.
We actively engage with local organizations and community stakeholders to amplify our impact, creating a network of support around financial literacy. Our mission is to inspire individuals to change their financial narratives, fostering self-empowerment, responsibility, and informed decision-making. At Smart Money with V, we envision a future where financial knowledge transcends socioeconomic barriers, leading to vibrant communities empowered to thrive
What is your biggest success?
My biggest success has been the launch of Smart Money with V, a brand dedicated to enhancing financial literacy and empowerment, particularly among underserved communities.
Through the development of tailored training programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) and the organization of impactful events like the Tsantsabane Women in Business Workshop, I have created vital platforms for community engagement and growth.
Receiving the Mail and Guardian Power of Women Award and the Thebe Foundation Innovation Award underscored my commitment to financial education. Additionally, launching the Smart Money Quiz, an interactive board game, has made learning about finances enjoyable and accessible.
My efforts have directly impacted over 1,000 individuals through workshops and partnerships with local schools, emphasizing the importance of financial literacy in shaping empowered communities. I am passionate about using my platform to advocate for women’s achievements and financial empowerment on a broader scale.
What has been your biggest hurdle?
My biggest hurdle was the transition from being an unemployed graduate to launching my own business. This challenging phase was marked by self-doubt and financial uncertainty. However, I embraced resilience and determination, committing myself to continuous learning and personal growth. I sought mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and engaged in networking to gain insights into the business world.
Each obstacle became a valuable lesson, helping me refine my vision and strategy for Smart Money with V. By leveraging these experiences, I transformed my initial challenges into stepping stones for success, ultimately establishing a brand dedicated to financial literacy and empowerment. This journey not only taught me the importance of perseverance but also reinforced my belief in the power of community support and education in overcoming adversity.
