Makhosazana ‘Khosi’ Zwane-Siguqa, TRUELOVE Editor-in-Chief

Makhosazana ‘Khosi’ Zwane-Siguqa is TRUELOVE Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief. She is a multi-award-winning journalist and editor with over nineteen years’ experience in the media industry. 

Her expertise ranges from newspapers, newspapers, OTT services, and television. Prior to her joining TRUELOVE as Editor, she was Head of Content at Tencent Africa Services where she spearheaded the launch of the VOOV app at Tencent Africa Services – a live streaming service; and VOOVTV, a first ever live integration of livestreaming content and television broadcasts. 

Before joining Tencent Africa Services, Khosi was Editor of the iconic DRUM Magazine for four years where she led the brand to pole position in the consumer magazines category. Under her leadership, DRUM launched several lucrative brand extensions such as DRUM Hair, DRUM Weddings, and lifestyle-oriented events and shows such as DRUMBeat and DRUM Darlings.

Khosi’s talent and visionary leadership wasn’t limited to the DRUM magazine brand, but also Move! magazine where she was editor from 2008 – 2010. During her tenure, she turned the magazine into the biggest selling women’s magazine in South Africa, and was founding editor of Move! Best Parent – the first Black parenting title in South Africa. 

Khosi has been named as one of Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young People To Take To Lunch, and The Media magazine’s Top 40 under 40 for 2015. She has won numerous awards for both DRUM and Move! magazines, including the respective brand extensions of the publications.

Khosi holds a Media Management qualification from Stellenbosch Business School, and is currently studying towards an MPhil degree in Futures Studies with the University of Stellenbosch Business School .
