Zanele Ngcobo of BNK Solar named Santam Readers` Choice 2022
Voted by the public, Zanele walked away with the Readers` Choice Award.
Zanele sees a future for South Africa that is centred on green energy. ‘When I started in 2020, the demand was much smaller, but I wanted to ensure that by the time solar systems boomed, my company would be on the forefront in terms of experience.’
To fund her dream, Zanele sold lipstick and worked at a library while she was studying. ‘I started BNK Solar from my bedroom; our first project was installing one solar panel. Today, we have a dedicated office for our team and a single project sees us installing 200 panels.’
BNK Solar provides turnkey solar solutions and assists clients with energy management systems and energy efficiency solutions. Since its launch, the company has not only won industry recognition but also secured an appointment with LTM Energy as VIP installers for an FNB national rollout of its Solar Systems portfolio – and Zanele is just getting started.
